Day 5 -Valenca to Mos - 30k

So last night I eventually left my hotel bed after a good 3 hours of snoozing and a long bath.

And went for a walk around town and for my dinner.  Pics to follow it had some really cool medival walls.

This morning I set off after my hotel buffet breakfast of lots of meats and cheese.  I followed the arrows which but through the walls and happened across a lost looking pilgrim. We walked together to find the right way and didn’t stop walking together we had very similar pace so was all good and nice to have a Camino buddy to chat to to.  His name is Xavier and he is Portuguese from 20 miles south of Porto he works in a cork factory packaging corks.  We talked for ages about jobs and low saleries in Portugal he has a degree in biology but could not find a job in the industry so just works away. We talked for ages about politics and general life stuff.  It confirmed my guesses around low wages in Portugal.

Anyway back to the Camino.  It did not take us long to enter into Spain. Goodbye Portugal.  Today was lots of village walking and Forrest paths today and it was a misty start so much cooler today.  It was still a 30km day and a long slog so not too many pics for today.  But it has been nice to walk along with someone today and chat and were big staying in the same albergue so no doubt walk together again tomorrow.  But it still makes me miss my Camino buddy of old, Rosario we shall Camino together once again I promise you!

I enjoyed Portugal but I am far more comfortable with the Spanish language and back on the menu is my good old buddy Aquarius lemon.

There is a hill first thing tomorrow and the downhill has been described in guides as violent so that sounds nice.  Another 30k ish tomorrow too and then the shorter stages kick in for the remaining days nothing over 27k.

Not too many pics from today:
