So as a Camino Veteran with this being my 6th Camino I obviously have my gear dialled in and I would not need to have another moan about Shoes/boots but here we are. So I thought I had my boots dialled in but alas needed to send my Lowa's away for repair and resoling so I bought another pair of exactly the same boots but unfortunately I run into problems using these and realised the toe box was too small and they actually blackened both big toes. Last Camino I also experienced numb toes due to so many hills. I had hoped when I got the fixed original boots back however the repair to the heal made them uncomfortable for longer walks, so these boots are fine for 5 mile walks for training but not something I was willing to risk on the full French route.
I have bunions on both feet but more on the right foot, I think one leg is probably longer than the other hence the hip pain but that's a problem for when I get back along with massage regiment. Since the last time I went to market for boots there is now a company called Hanwag another German Boot company that specialise in boots for those with Bunion's so I took a put on the Alta Bunion II GTX boots and they have been great. Very similar to my Lowa Renegades in weight and fit with a wide and big toe box but also resole able. I have worn them for a number of training walks and long walks and they were like slippers, however I am also aware that its not a good plan to do too much in them and save the grips for the actual trip. Walking 550 ish miles would potentially be a problem for lots of boots so fingers crossed if they survive the whole trip.
Other than the boots and a few trades like the Osprey reservoir and better watch and Phone and fast chargers and fast power bricks. I have a very similar gear kit to previous Camino's.

All in all coming in at 7.2 kg, so this means I'm some how 500g up from last time. So still trying to figure out if I should cut more. I think it's marginal and I'm packing slightly bigger fluids like roll on deodorant and soap, taking more on that front than normal as I'm going for longer. Think chargers have got bigger too but they are also fast chargers now so suppose that's probably a good compromise not having to be hanging around chargers for so long.
