Day 13 - Ages to Burgos - 25k

So a misty start to the day, the plan quite simple get to Burgos and close out the first stage of the Camino. You can largely divide the Camino into 3 sections. The first they say is the Physical fro St Jean to Burgos, next is The Mental from Burgos to Leon know. For being actually quite boring and flat and much like a desert for heat, so it has a reputation for sending people a bit loco but next comes the last section from Leon to Santiago which is the rebirth/spiritual section with the Cruz de Ferro ect.

So today the mission is to get over the hill. Which was quite early in proceedings. Definitely goat and sheep tracks but with a big cross and metal plate words and some stone circles.

As I created the hill I got chatting to a Czech lady, Dukha is my guess at the spelling. We walked down the mountain and found a good coffee place that had bacon and egg boccadilo and the first coffee of the day.

Dukha walked very fast so she left me for dust. To get to Burgos you have to walk around the airport and then it's a close to 13k slog through the industrial areas before walking through town. It's such a big city.

As we had already booked the apartment I tried to find it. It was not an easy find and. Even harder to figure out how to get in with keyless entry via websites but pretty clever with a smart lock.

3rd time in Burgos for me so had lunch and took a pic of the cathedral and left Claus, Cali and Emily to go have a look.

So this means 290km (180 miles) have been done and 500 km (310 miles) still to go.
