Day 14 - Burgos to Hontanas - 30km

So I knew today was a big day and being in an apartment certainly made it hard to leave early but 6 am once again into the breach. I knew it would be a long day of 10km stints between towns and refuels.

I made good time to the first stop and had a coffee and breakfast about 10km in tho these towns and bars get very remote. Managed my next 10km pretty well and was pretty early but the sun has now come out to play so I went big on the water knowing the last 10km maybe a slog.

So we are now in the maseta, it's hot, long and flat for the most part but limited towns, limited stops and no shade. So it's a good idea to carry lots of water and some grub.

The last 10km was a very swetty hot mess but unlike logrono I had 3l of water so was just going through the sip motions. Feet started to ache near the end but got in by 2. I think getting up earlier is the next step and try and maximise the cool mornings. 5 am maybe the next shout.

Had a text Cali and Emily will push to the 30k too. But storms are due so this may be the end to the "there can be no rain on Emilie's Camino"
