Day 28 - Sarria to Portomarin - 21.6km

I had a lovely sleep in my private room but alas the sound of rain pitter pattered on the window this morning when my alarm went off. Obviously I have all my gear for this eventuality but the temptation to stay in bed was strong but I got up anyway.

Dark and rain has been the pattern of my training walks and I figured it may put some people off leaving so early. Barely saw anyone most the day and was I'm guessing like 9-10k before my first coffee stop. A mix of roads Forrest paths and single track today.

Quite up and down but good progress was made and I didn't stop again until I reached Portomarin just due to the lack desire while wet.  I made it to the Municipal Albergue just to get a sense of how busy it is and so far it really doesn't look that bad. Lots of pilgrims sure, some noisy young Spanish guys drinking all day.....standard but not horrific. So we will see.

Managed to tumble dry all my stuff and the rain has gone now so fingers crossed for tomorrow.
