It's a funny one for me today technically my 4th time down this route. I reflected on all the other times and the different times in my life over the last 10 years and concluded this one has been me at my happiest with how it all went and how I am as a person. I am fundamentally in a stronger position and for a change not coming into Santiago in pain.
This Camino really has been a celebration of the last 10 years and the personal work done to improve and make peace. So whilst I do indeed finish today the main Camino I will try to use the next 3 days to Finisterre to reflect more on it all.
The walk was very good seeing a number of people from the last few weeks at different stages, Cali and Emily left a little after me but caught up after my breakfast spot. Although I was a bit faster on the hills after finally finding the pointing statue dudes I have missed on the other 3 times as they are a bit off Camino I strolled to the last few k and waiting for them so we could all walk on together.
It's always a beautiful moment hearing the bag pipes and walking on to the square. We took a few pics but the sun was not positioned well so we went for a beer and found Sean, Monica and Eva among many others at my favorite bar. So celebrated and come back to take more pics once the sun moved.
Then off to the pilgrims office to get my credential for Finisterre as its own thing. I am now waiting for my hotel check-in and no doubt a little bit more celebration later but I'm still up early. 3 more days walking for me but for now Camino Frances is complete once again.
