So set off at half 5 in the morning due to my back and neck keeping me from going back to sleep! For the first time it was actually raining so adorning my goretex jacket and headed into the rain!
Today is only 26k to Burgos but has a wee hill to tackle first although visibility was very short managed to find my way up mostly in the dark! I am enjoying walking in the dark as the challenge of guessing you way is fun!!
The road into Burgos was pretty much straight through a rather boring industrial area then into town my feet really didn’t enjoy today tho not quite sure maybe the moisture from the morning!
The sun soon came out as i found the cathedral! Now have seen a few of these gothic cathedrals before but hats off to Burgos it’s a beauty!
I then found my hotel for the night a small boutique hotel, but 3 stars and very close to the cathedral and the camino! So glad to have a big bed, proper sheets and a proper shower!
So after a shower I headed to go have a look around the cathedral and despite my views on organised religion wow there is so much architectural art and sculpture! When religion has such an old and colourful past painted on the walls it’s easy to see how enchanted by it you could be! I will it post all the pics from the cathedral but wow!
Honestly have no plan for tomorrow it really depends how my back and neck is and when I wake up but I don’t fancy bailing out my hotel room early so tomorrow may need to be a short day to get a bed back on the camino!
