There was a self service breakfast at half 5 so after a cuppa and a bit of toast and jam I headed out into the darkness just before 6 ish! I’m enjoying heading out in the dark it’s way cooler!
As I climbed out the village I could see red and white flashing light in clumps but surrounding me for as far as the eye could see if I’m honest it looked like I had walked into an airport and was glad to be walking towards the lights for further investigation and as the sun come up it become very clear it was huge wind turbine farms all over the meseta! With that puzzle solved I was making good progress. My legs are really coming into form although my feet are lacking but slowly getting better.
Today’s plan as to try and get 30k ish done and see how my feet were due to there being a pretty steep hill towards the end of my walk today and steep it was tho my legs are adjusting to climbing well.
My feet are still getting my full attention so decided to stop at just over 30k for the day not including the extra for the hill! In Itero de la vega there are a few albergue’s but one took my fancy due to a non bunk bed option for 8 euro! Turns out its in a room with just 3 beds so much nicer for the extra 2 euro
I also plan on trying to be up early so I can easily sneak out tomorrow as I plan to do close to 36k so starting earlier for a cooler start is a solid plan! The albergue also does grub and as its a small village it’s a one stop shop for me!
