Day 14 Carrion de Los Condes to Terradillos de Los Templarios

So this morning untried to stay in bed a little later and left just on for 6, most of the albergue had already left.

I was not in a good way starting my legs were still very asleep with huge twinges from my left Achilles and my right knee between the two I was hobbling along very slowly. Normally this goes quickly but today I couldn’t shake it. It was really pretty rough going and il admit I googled buses.

I stopped for 10 mins had some biscuits for breakfast and then cracked open my emergency can of monster energy drink. Had two pills of man the fuck up and got back on the camino! I put my music on and stuck the volume right up but none of this was working until 20 mins later I got the caffeine and sugar surge and boom my legs were back. The stride widened and quickened and I was soon up to speed the pain in my knee gone and the twinge in my Achilles now just a blunt din!

I was feeling a lot better about things and disappointed in myself that’s had briefly considered the bus. So I guess my first Camino crash over with I caught up with a few people and soon got talking to a guy from New Zealand and when chatting pish the time and k’s go very quickly today was only 27k due to the row on the 30 mark only having 18 beds! Now to relax the feet and hope tomorrows start is better!

The village I am in is tiny mostly ruined buildings and rubble but the albergue is fairly new and very nice it has a nice bar and terrace and I’m in a room of only 5 beds not bunk beds. I also arrived just in time the albergue’s fill up quickly due to a lack of beds compared to the amount of pilgrims at this time of year and the problem gets worse the closer to Santiago you go!
