So after day one of rest it was nice knowing I had another day to go! Got up at 8 had a nice shower and went for breakfast! It was a buffet and I ate soo much bacon!
My best mission after much googling to find adventure sports shops I found two that stocked salomon’s as I decided to get the hiking shoe version not the crossmax 2 that I loved but broke after 6 weeks!
One of the shops were pretty close to my next hotel, I wanted a hotel on the camino on the way out of town and managed to find one that was very reasonable so the plan was to move!
As shops don’t open until 10 had lots if time to walk across town to the store and although the store was closing down as are almost all the shops I have seen are they had the trainers I wanted in my size! Granted not exactly ecstatic about having buy another pair of trainers but already feeling far better on my feet.
Then I got checked into my hotel quite an arty quirky decorated place but all very pleasant. It even has a half bath, hard to describe but will be good to soak my feet.
As I didn’t want to carry the old trainers with me my next mission was to box them up and find a post office. This was not as easy as first thought as post offices in Leon have also been closing down and no one told google maps so after walking a few k to the post office and mumbling Spanglish at the man in the post office I think my box should be on its way back to the uk but I honestly am not sure I had to fill out so many forms.
Once this was done I was nearing siesta time this varies place to place but in Leon most shops open 10-2 then close until 5 and then open until 8. I enjoy the relaxed Spanish way if life but I do wonder how much work actually gets done during these hours as most go straight to a bar for 3 hours and then return to work I know personally I doubt I would be motivated to do the last few hours.
After having another wander around leon decided I will rest up and make sure all is ready as I will leave at 7 and get back on the camino! I’m feeling much better and the new trainers so far are a huge improvement.
