Checked out the hotel for 7 the earliest I could check out. Knowing that in general that’s an hour or two behind everyone else was weighing on my mind. My feet actually felt good today my legs were also on form so felt very good keeping up a faster pace than normal. Had a few twinges but I know they are just me breaking only new shoes. The walk today was mainly flat and as it always is with leaving big cities it was next to roads and pretty dull scenery so was not hanging about. I made good progress and was soon overtaking people.
It felt good to be back on the camino and heading towards Santiago once again. I thought today would be a right off in scenery until I neared my final destination of Hospital de Ortigo, it’s a medieval town even has its own jousting stadium. With many albergue’s trying to get you attention and only 2 on my guide I picked to stay in the biggest one hoping to see some faces from before Leon but not seen anyone yet. The albergue is an older one steeped in history and by the looks of it used to be a stables as I am defiantly in a stable with a few bunks but at 5 euro it’s a bargain.
Not a lot to report today just that I’m back on the road, feet feeling good, blisters healing and only 282 km to go!
