Day 4 - Pamplona to Puenta La Reina - 24 km

Pamplona is where my familiarity of the Camino ramps up now as my third go through the city. I met Claudia a women from New Jersey and chatted with her on the way out the city. She has just trained to be a teacher and actually has the last stage as a job interview today so she is hoping to get to the albergue in enough time to get online.

I stopped for a coffee and a few snacks before hitting the hill, today we head up to the metal pilgrim cut outs on the mountain. I decided to put some music on the hit random and Elo - Mr Blue Sky started playing (my favorite song). Then I started marching to the hill when it happened, my foot moved naturally that extra half inch and like a warm hug from a close friend my Camino 6th gear has arrived. Earlier than expected but there it was. So I had a great climb, and had a great day walking. Vibing out to my music and made really good progress. After heading down the hill was giggling to myself thinking about me and dad 9 years earlier going down that hill rattling the hell out of our rental bikes. We must have have been something to behold. Good memories.

Made solid progress in my happy mood but slowed my walking. While it's nice my Camino pace is available on tap, I want to continue a reserved pace for now. Was nice to get it finished by 12.30 today and I found a nice albergue a bit of an upgrade from the usual manicupals and it's has sofas and a sun terrace with hammocks and loungers.

The last two nights I haven't been able to find a perigrino menu, they seem to only do them in the days and having to settle for a Burger King last night. So have switched tactics and now plan to try and get out after chores and have the big meal in the afternoon and snack in the evening.

Another Mary rescue this afternoon to thread blisters, she will do anything to get in the blog.
