Day 16 - Boadilla Del Camino to Corrion de Los Condes - 24.3 km

So another 5 am start, Corrion de Los Condes is the goal today as there is a 17km gap to the next place so a bit of a bottle neck so all the pilgrims will descend today to line up the next stage.

So made good progress in the dark once again reach Fromista by 7 ish which is where a bunch of people walked on to last night. But as it turned out this was a bad move as we managed a pilgrims meal at the hotel last night but everyone who walked on faced a closed town due to being Sunday and limited food available. So the shorter stage was a blessing in disguise.

I bumped into Emma a young Norwegian woman who I had said hi to but we didn't trade names which is typical on the Camino that it may take a few days to meet formally.

So today was largely what they consider a boring day as it's mainly close to road walking but as it was early and quiet I enjoyed it.

I managed to find a coffee after about 10km and had some banana cake and helped a Hungarian guy fix his backpack adjustments.

As I was getting back on the road I bumped into Emma again with Elle a Scottish chick from the borders so walked with them and passed the time nicely. Shortly after coming to the next town I could see Sean a chap from Newcastle who often jogs past me on the Camino and he gets very competitive with people overtaking him and we had a coffee and decided to walk the last bit together albeit with Sean running up ahead.

We soon got into our stop at about half 11 just in time for the worst of the sun to kick up. After failing to find a Vegan menu for Elle we decided to go to the supermarket and have a mini picnic and I got grub for tea so can just have a chilled afternoon without thinking about it so having another supermarket pasta salad thing and have bread to make a baguette for the 17km tomorrow.

Today's albergue choices were single beds at an Albergue run by nuns or another albergue with singing nuns. I stayed with the singing nuns last time do didn't want to take a bed from someone who wanted the singing nuns.

Definitely roasting in the afternoons so trying to keep a low profile and keep up the early morning working and hopefully in 3 days we will be in Leon I think for a full rest day or at least that's the plan.
