I did find a picnic table to stop and have a munch of my food. I even seen a coffee stand setting up so I'm sure the pilgrims behind me had a lovely coffee but alas I was trying to get some big distances done first so fired on. It was quite misty first thing and even had a layer of moisture on my bag but it soon heated up.
As I got to the what should have been the first open town alas I was still too early. So had to walk on another few k, but I met an American couple so walked with them for a while and the chat always helps the time go fast. Thankfully the next town did indeed have an open bar and served toast and jam so that with a coffee and and aquarius and water top up was all good. By this point it was only 2km to go for my stop today.
So last time I also stopped in the same albergue which I always remembered as being nice and small rooms and good food. Me and dad also stopped here for food I think when cycling. So tomorrow this is the place I broke down and got the train to Leon so as I'm in way better physical shape from a lack of injuries I'm hoping to put that demon to bed that mentally got me last time.
From speaking to peeps they seem to be hitting Leon in 3 days. But I have an aggressive plan if I walk 31k tomorrow Leon is only 36k away so I'm thinking it's rest day time so I may book a hotel for 2 nights then get up at 4 am and shoot for the 36k knowing il catch up the sleep. But we will see tomorrow.
Getting in at 11am again today means lots of time to recover and recoup so in good spirits and avoiding the tough mid day heat. It's still very hot here past 11.
